EDUCATION

"An intelligent heart acquires knowledge,

and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge." - Proverbs 18:15

As the first college graduate in his family, Freddie always believed that education was an important key to changing the world. For him, learning did not stop with his graduation from Tennessee State University. He was a voracious reader, always trying to find ways to improve.

He shared this love of education with his wife LaDon who he met while studying at Tennessee State University. They, in turn, passed on the importance of education to their children, Mia and LaMar, who graduated from Cooley Law School, and Eastern Michigan University, respectively.

Freddie was known for sharing the importance of education to every young person he met and would often strongly suggest they attend his alma mater. In his honor, the Freddie McNeil Project will continue Freddie's promotion of education and will place special focus on those students attending his alma mater of Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee.
